By staying fit throughout your life, you will be able to find cheap health insurance premiums that provide high quality medical attention.

cheap, cheapest, medical, health, insurance, rates, premiums

By exercising daily, managing your stress effectively and focusing on water-rich foods, you will benefit from cheap health insurance rates all throughout life.

Cheap health insurance rates are a distinct possibility when you take the time to realize that you are your own best physician.

Hundreds of billions of dollars in health care expenses are generated by Americans each year. Cheap health insurance premiums are something that every US resident needs and desires - and making sure to integrate holistic lifestyle habits within your family can help you to save big. As we stand in the midst of what politicians are calling the most serious health care reform measures to have been taken in almost seven decades, the details of the bills passing the House and the Senate, right now, are vague at best and most of us. One thing is sure though: it is every woman and every man’s wish to have access to high-quality medical care when necessary. And so every American is sitting with fingers crossed - hoping that the government will take care of them. And that’s where it all falls apart.

Create your own cheap health insurance by exercising daily, managing your stress effectively - and concentrating your dietary choices on water-rich foods only.

The aforementioned hundreds of billions of dollars paid in medical expenses each year in the United States has to actually come from somewhere. We count on our health insurance providers to do their parts within the system, keep the ball rolling and keep us healthy - while simultaneously hoping that the fine people in Washington, DC really do have our best interests at heart. And it doesn’t seem like that much we are asking for: just effective, cheap health insurance that we can count on if we ever fall ill or get injured.

However, somewhere deep inside, we know that the government cannot possibly represent all of our needs equally – not even if it truly desired and intended to. We know that it’s up to each of us individually to insure our own health by ensuring our own health. Reducing your premiums for health care coverage has a whole lot to do with the physical and mental condition that you are in. No matter how many new presidents, new health care bills, new programs and new bailouts are created, one thing will always be true: It is your most important responsibility to yourself to maintain your own health. In the long run, it will be the choices that you have made in the past that will maintain your youthfulness.

As a rule of thumb, the less fit that you are, the more you will pay for health insurance.

Think about it from the point of view of an insurance company. All types of insurance premiums are based upon calcualted/estimated risks. Insurance is a numbers game - and the professional mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries that insurance corporations employ are paid quite nicely to ensure the company’s long-term profitability. In other words, insurance companies do not take losses; they increase premiums when necessary to generate targeted profit margins.

So what does all of this mean to you?

Staying fit and living a holistically healthy lifestyle will entitle you to cheap health insurance because:

People who exercise regularly, eat healthy foods, maintain appropriate weight levels and manage their stress effectively require less medical attention than those who don’t.

From a health insurance company’s point of view, a person who requires less medical attention is entitled to pay less for health coverage than somebody who requires more.

By staying fit throughout life, as you age, you will exhibit less probability for developing preventable diseases, obesity - and loads of other insurance premium-increasing conditions.

The majority of Americans will readily admit that they should pay more attention to their health and fitness levels. And of course, the majority of Americans also continually make excuses why they do not address these issues. Instead, they wait to see what their elected politicians will do to maintain their health levels for them. And they do so knowing that it’s actually not even possible for that to happen. The bottom line is that embracing a holistically healthy lifestyle - beginning today, right now - is the only sure way to maintain your youthfulness, - and enjoy your life maximally!

“I Was A Gym Class Wallflower” is an article contributed by Heather Dugan, my good friend, voice-over talent, fitness enthusiast and professional traveler:

It’s true. Pressed against the cafeteria wall, hoping to camouflage my lack of athletic experience and skill as blasé disinterest–that was me. This surprises all those who missed my mandatory sixth grade gymnastics routine–heavy on dramatic spins and arm flourishes that did little to hide the fact that my abilities were limited to somersaults, ballet-style cartwheels and half of a back walk-over (as I recall it, half of my three minute routine was spent ineffectively attempting to kick my way back out of a backbend…riveting humiliation when viewed on a TV monitor outside the cafeteria during the high traffic lunch hour!).

I’m a fairly fit 40-something now, but the truth is, I sort of stumbled into personal fitness.

My first foray into team sports came my senior year of high school. Lacrosse. How good was I? Good enough to be my coach’s gift to an opposing team when they were short a couple of players for our game. My team won–that is, the team I arrived with, not the team I guest-played for, but I chose to call it a victory. And it was. I’d shown up and put my feet on the field.

I began running towards the end of college, primarily for the opportunity it provided my friends and I to pass a local fraternity on a regular basis. Running didn’t require great amounts of coordination (right left, right left… I could do that), and once I got past the whole “do I look silly” question, I found I enjoyed it.

The running habit stuck. My folks didn’t really know what to make of it when I returned home for summer break. We’d hiked and biked in the course of our travels, but with a regular exercise routine, I’d now swung far out of “normal” for my family. I kept at it anyways, because I was already noticing some remarkable benefits: less stress, more confidence, focused “thinking time” -and best of all, my “skinny” body now had runner’s legs.

Above the waist, however, I had the same willowy rag doll physique I’d always had. It lacked a certain something, but I just didn’t know what. Yet…

Years later, after prolonged manual labor on a landscaping project followed by an unfortunate stint on crutches, a neighbor commented favorably on my muscular “definition.” I confess that I had no idea what she meant. I looked in the mirror that evening, however, and discovered that I’d somehow grown baby arm muscles. I made an instant connection between my recent increases in strength and energy and decided to keep them.

Worth noting: These new muscles were “born” in my very late 30s making them younger than my three children! In the beginning, it was as simple as incorporating a few push-ups and crunches into my mornings. I advanced to trying pull-ups and chin-ups at playgrounds while playing with my kids. My method was simply to try and do at least as much as I did the last time. Nothing set in stone, but it became another positive habit to build upon. Eventually, I added free weights and began looking at how to further improve-rather than simply maintain, my accidental fitness. My “stumble” into physical fitness had taken me to a good place, and I was hooked.

That’s it! I use a gym now and find that the variety helps me keep my work-outs fresh and interesting. I lack the time for perfection but surge ahead on the theory that something is always better than nothing at all. I view my gym and outdoor running time as 1) my best investments in my future health, and 2) a sure way to keep positive about the present!

So, when a young lady stopped me at the gym last week to ask what I did and if she was too late, I smiled. I told her that she was so far ahead of me already and gave her the basics of my routine along with a couple words of encouragement.

We’re all made so differently, and the same regimens will look completely different on the bodies of two different women. But, we can all do something to maximize what we’ve been given.

And confidentially, it’s much more fun to be out on the gym floor than leaning against a padded wall. Take if from a former wallflower.

Here’s a workout tip for you to do at home….I would argue that more time is wasted at home than probably any other place!Television watching can be a big time waster! I rarely watch a 2 or 3 hour game without doing something else while watching…I just don’t have the time to waste….

So, while you’re watching American Idol (confess that you watch it!), do a bodyweight or dumbbell workout for 30-45 minutes…..your family will probably join you in the fun….

Need a good home workout? Here goes:

–Prisoner squats, 12 repetitions, moderate pace
–Pushup Plank with Leg Lift, 5 second hold and lift, 8 each leg
–Mountain Climbers, 30 seconds, slow pace
–Pushups, 20 repetitions
–Dumbbell Bentover Row, 10 repetitions, moderate pace
–Ab Curl Ups, 15 repetitions, slow pace
–Do this circuit 3 times

Do this workout 3 times a week, add in 2-3 interval cardio days between this workout and you’ve got it whipped! Who needs a gym membership? Stay tuned for more tips tomorrow!

After that, I had a decision to make at about 10 p.m. Go workout and feel better or go lay on the couch (watching Sports Center) and still feel frustated, mad and stressed out….there are different ways to work off stress and frustration

And the winner is: 20 minutes of interval sprint cardio and I was flying…..it always works and I felt better that night and the next day!

Moral to the story? There will always be a reason NOT TO WORKOUT….JUST WORKOUT ON MOST DAYS AND YOU’LL FEEL BETTER AND BE HEALTHIER!

Bounce Back

And… after weeks apart I’m back! This week’s topics? People on the rebound. Questions to ponder: Why do people rebound? What does this accomplish? Will it satiate cravings for fulfillment? Will those rebounding– in this short time attain the picture of happiness sought or will they sink away into the recesses of emptiness, loneliness and wash away the colors of Once? Do these actions become justified or do they provide an X-Ray of your soul?

Leaving the dramatic aside, let’s get to the point.

Breakups are hard, no doubt. They happen for reasons known and unknown and are uncontrollable and inevitable. Both parties are hurt in the matter whether the decision is mutual, singular or impulsive. Some cope in positive ways, others in more questionable ones.

So, how do you deal? Some ask how does one positively deal with these rough times, leaving the negative i.e. binge drinking, blacking out and stalking to more desperate folk? I would say spending time with friends and family is the best remedy one could ask for with many windows of laughter. If you’re more emo and that doesn’t work for you, solitude, reflection and reinvention just may be a good new look.

Rounding back to the questions in paragraph One? Why do we rebound? My take? We rebound because we are flushed with emotions that we cannot control. We cannot navigate the treacherous waters of hard times and broken hearts. I imagine a newly broken-up party on a lone boat on the choppy waters of an angry sea. Where will that boat find shelter, where will it find refuge from an onslaught of cracked hearts and vicious memories that obstruct its path to smooth seas and sunny skies? Well, I would say many will find their message in a bottle… if you know what I mean. Patron induced decisions, following an Aha! realization that the other person will be better off and so will you (!), or perhaps bitter slurs to cover your sadness. Or worse a simple fade out into a drunken stupor, leading you to being comfortably tucked into bed by a pissy friend and awakening fully clothed with the lights on. Which ever you do endure, you will come out with a message of either hope, desperation or surrender.

Next question? What does this accomplish? Rebounding accomplishes very little. If anything it’s a sign of temporary weakness and helplessness or impulsive reaction to the unexpected. Personally I don’t rebound (unless chocolate and vino count!), but for those who do… I feel their pain. Time is a friend and Time is a foe, but every person chooses their hour.

Will it satiate our cravings for fulfillment? Dubious, but who knows. Sometimes relationships form out of rebound hookups. They usually end. Abruptly, too. All is well for a little while, until ZAP! The person realizes the “new” person is NOT the ex. The craving is like a junkie jonzing for a crack fix who tries to soothe his urges with a placebo pill or a crazy coffee drinker trying to replace their morning cups with tea! Laugh, but I kid you not. When it comes to relationships & breakups, the addicted are everywhere; coffee shops, nightclubs, dark alleys or in the comfort of their own homes. Little increments and little highs. For everyone.

This leads us to ask if we will, in this short time attain the picture of happiness sought or will we sink away into the recesses of emptiness, loneliness and wash away the colors of Once? Probably neither. Sorry!! Both are polar extremes that I use only because of my tendency to use ridiculous scenarios, but hey… you never know. Most people just need Time. Time to sort out their thoughts, emotions, ugly realizations and save their most special memories. Weeding out the bad takes time, but I think we are inclined only to take the good in our hearts as immediate memories, storing the vile away in the dark corners. The rest… they are not forgotten, but… they will fall away just as the warmth of a relationship fades like Summer.

Finally, Do these actions become justified or do they provide an X-Ray of your soul? Nobody can justify an action except YOU. Others can call it out, but in the end you are the maker of your life. People may put you down, but life is your canvas and all great portraits have color. Whether that color of your personal life’s X-Ray is monotone greys or streaks of bright fuchsia, you are the dear person to choose. So, heartache and all, paint with passion and do it well. Just keep your eyes forward. Don’t look back.

Cut out sugary sodas and sweet drinks (including sweet fruit juices)…try it for a week and see how much fat you lose in your gut! Take this small step to change your eating habits and dramatically cut your calorie intake….Replace sugary drinks with with water and drinks like unsweetened tea.

A 12-ounce can of soda has as much as 13 teaspoons of sugar in the form of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). If HFCS is the first or second ingredient listed, the product is heavily “laced” with HFCS. Other sweet foods are also high in HFCS.

Nutritionists point to HFCS consumption as a major player in the nation’s obesity crisis (the fact that we eat it is the real problem).

According to government data, sweetened soft drinks add about 10 percent of the calories in the typical American’s diet.

Dr. David Ludwig, a Harvard endocrinologist, who is widely cited by obesity researchers, says that sweetened drinks are the only specific food that clinical research has directly linked to weight gain. “Highly concentrated starches and sugars promote overeating, and the granddaddy of them all is sugar-sweetened beverages,” said Ludwig, who runs the Optimal Weight for Life Program at Children’s Hospital in Boston.

Have you successfully cut out sugary drinks (or similar)? How did you do it? Comment and let us know!

We’re about 3 weeks into the New Year and I have seen the following fitness trends in the gyms so far:

1. Some of you are still doing the same poorly designed workouts and getting the same “little or no success results” from your workouts. You’re still throwing your money away at these gyms.

2. Then, there are those who have decided to follow a workout program they found in a fitness magazine…..this is better than you trying to figure it all out on your own but a program found in a magazine is not individualized for your specific fat loss needs and goals.

3. There’s a group of you who have already given up the fight to get fit because you are overwhelmed…..you don’t believe you can really get a “leaned out” body.

4. Some still think they can eat like they always have and just workout longer and harder. The only problem with this tactic is that it does no good to burn 500 calories during a workout and later eat 900 calories of bad food.

5. Some are still wasting money on pills, patches, creams and fat-burner supplements……its the workouts and good nutrition that will get you fit!

6. There’s still a group of you who haven’t figured out that it takes hard, smart workouts to get fit……you need to learn how to workout hard.

7. And, some have gym memberships they still aren’t using.

Whatever the case, it doesn’t have to be that way……don’t underestimate the value of well-designed fitness program put together by a certified personal trainer. It makes all the difference because you get direction, feedback and encouragement from a trainer who is fit and knows what it takes to get fit and stay fit.

Get the help you need to get fit! Visit the link directly below and get started on your way to the “leaned out” body you want! And, you don’t need a gym membership!
